Honestly, it makes me happy that so many people here are 30 and older. I'm almost 30 and I have this irrational fear that life stops at 40. Like after that you're just waiting to die. It's weird because my parents are in their 50s and doing fine so I don't know where this comes from.

Grandparents? Or, if you're of the lady persuasion, the pervasive "joke" that women are worthless after 40?

I've been the opposite. I was a late-life baby, so at thirty my parents were 75. Aging's been like, "NBD! I've seen worse!"

I'm 40 and happier than I was in my 20s and 30s. That's partly due to circumstances beyond my control, but as a person I feel good about myself and confident that my 40s will be even better.
