Avocado toast is what middle-brow restaurants serve as a token vegetarian option on a menu loaded with surf and turf. So of course, it tends to be overpriced.

I've only ever heard of avocado toast as a made up thing by people who hate millennials, I had no idea it was an actual thing that's served and eaten

nayrt but a nice multigrain toast with a poached egg and avocado on top is divine.

But I make it myself - my supermarket has "tiny avocados" in 6-pack backs for $3.75, which is a steal. Eggs are cheap, and getting bread isn't too bad. It's not worth $25 and no, I don't blow my entire paycheck on it like old rich Republicans think, but it is yummy. (I am vegetarian, too, so there's that)

I've made avocado sandwiches on toasted bread at home, but never found it at a restaurant.

Avocados aren't too expensive here and I like them, so I've made avocado toast at home, but I've never had it in a restaurant.

I have only had homemade avocado toast, where I have toasted the bread and peeled the avo myself. When I was a kid I ate it with Vegemite, but now I like it plain with just a sprinkle of salt on it.
