Bacon should only be baked in an oven (put in while oven is cold).

It allows the fat to render slowly. That keeps it from curling up and makes it shrink less.

I've tried pan-frying, pan-frying in a little water, and microwaved, and baked in an oven is definitely the best way.

It's why I don't eat bacon in summer, though - too hot to turn on the oven.

Deep fried bacon in bacon grease is amazing though. It's juicy and crispy and perfect.

(discovered while cooking large amounts of bacon for groups)
