Just set it on the tank of the toilet or (if there is one) on a table/shelf next to it. So much less annoying than hanging it on the wall.

That's all fun and games until you reach for it, it drops, and rolls all across your bathroom floor, leaving a long trail of unsanitary toilet paper and a poopy ass with toilet paper too far away to reach.

Toilet paper should be hung so that the side you grab with your hands is the side that's on the outside of the roll. That way, the side you use is the one that's on the inside of the roll and hasn't gotten dusty. For me, that feels most natural underhand.

I'm just glad that there is toilet paper in the bathroom that I've never cared which way the paper hangs, if it's in a basket, under the sink, on the back of the tank, damn it, I'm just glad it's there!
