I never know who the fuck Darcy is! Everytime people mention her I'm just internally all "Who the fuck is Darcy?!"

But I don't care enough to look her up.

The oh-so-quirky character. This girl. She was in Thor 1 and 2.

She's cute, quirky, and single, which means she can be shipped with anyone and functions like a canon self-insert in the fandom.

I have no qualms with Darcy, but she is the other half of an inordinate amount of shipfic for those reasons, and I can see why people dislike the character as a result.

I can also see why people would take issue with the way she was characterized in the second one after the first because they ramped up the "quirkiness" like having Jane's assistant have her own assistant.

She is used as a reader insert. She pops up in the weirdest fandoms.

I feel bad because she's okay when she's not trying so damn hard to be cute or funny... but yeah, girl needs to just shut up at times.

I like canon Darcy just fine, fanon Darcy is annoying and gets everywhere.

But whatever I just avoid it.

In the first movie she was fine. She was insufferable in the second one.

I didn't mind her in the second but the jokes on her end did feel more forced and her quirky factor got upped by like 11 which I can get people finding grating.

For me she's just a side-character who doesn't garner much of a reaction either way.

YES! I'm so glad she's, hopefully, never going to be in any of movies ever again.
