I think anyone who's going "oh but girls wouldn't act that way", "wah but that's missing the point because toxic masculinity" and "lol it would turn into a perfect utopia and they'd be off the island through their own skill in no time" are ignorant, naive fools who have never been bullied by girls/women in their lives.

I also think it's pretty sexist to assume girls are a) harmless little idiots who can do no damage anyway so why worry and b) little perfect angels who would never make mistakes.

Nobody needs that remake, imo, but pretending like girls would act so totally different is bullshit and if someone actually believes that, they're an idiot.

Having given it thought, I think it could have potential as an examination of how cruel girls can be, but I don't have faith that it will turn out that way. I think it may just try to jam girls into the boyish patterns of brutal behaviour the book had in it.

Oh yes, I absolutely agree. Girls are great at destroying each other, but it does work in much different ways. I have little faith in this actually working out that way, too, which is why I'd rather pass on the whole thing in general.
