When I was more active on LJ, I didn't always have the time to comment to all of my friends' posts, as much as I would have liked to. But if someone was sad, I always did my best to comment. Because I know from experience that sometimes it can be a little hopeful or encouraging comment that can make a huge difference when someone is very down. So I suppose I could have been what you consider a "foul weather friend", but it wasn't because I wanted friends to be sad. The exact opposite, in fact. Maybe some of your friends are like that?

I'm sorry to hear it, though. I hope you can figure something out.
