you mean different words like "lesbian" or "gay" or "queer"

if those words mean what they want to say, then sure.

I don't feel like "people sometimes talk differently in real life than online" is really a controversial point to make. the fact that people use acronyms online does not, in itself, mean that they are shut-ins who've never talked about this in real life.

Seriously, I use acronyms all the time online, but I would never say "FFS" in meatspace. I say "for fuck's sake."

I mean, especially on a medium like Twitter, where every character counts.
