Hm, that might be true.

From my perspective, at least, I will always consume fannish media, but I don't spend a whole lot of time in fandom itself. I don't know if I'd do that much more if my life weren't "together" though (such as it is). I'd probably just play more video games. I was a little more fannish in college, but not much, and I hated college; I read and occasionally wrote fanfic but the big escapism for me was the media itself.
