I used to go LARPing fairly regularly (yeah yeah, I know, I'm a nerd) but after the election stuff and seeing some of the people I LARPed with being loud and proud bigots I don't feel safe going anymore.

Sure they're probably the type to say when they posted things about rounding up and gassing queers to give the 'libtard cucks something to really cry about' they didn't mean me! They like me, they'd never hurt me. It was just a joke.

But at that point how am I supposed to feel safe sleeping out in the woods in an unlocked cabin with someone who thought that was funny?

I wouldn't feel safe anymore either. I'd either be petrified or closeted and petrified all the same.

I'm sorry to say it, but you might be better off finding a new group of friends. You don't have to tell them why (in my experience, it'd just make them dig their heels in harder because it's just a JOKE, GOD, CAN'T YOU TAKE A JOKE-- people like that can't even admit they were wrong, for any reason), but you're well-within your rights to excise yourself from it.
