Well, I have my new car so I am thinking of driving to my sister's house. It is almost three hours away so that would be the longest amount I've ever driven by myself. It all depends on if this infernal runny nose goes away! If not, I'll be staying home to play Slime Rancher. I'll also be applying for any job I am remotely eligible for.

What about you all?

Congrats on finally getting your new car.

I really hope the sinus infection/runny nose you've had this week clears up. But if not, playing Slime Rancher sounds like a really fun and relaxing way to spend a weekend.

I have two shows that are leaving Netflix next week and I need to buckle down and binge them so I can cross them off my never-ending list of shows to be watched. But because I'm stubborn and resent that Netflix is forcing my hand, I keep putting it off like an idiot.

Also, I saw Home Again today. Didn't really care for it. I plan to see Ingrid Goes West tomorrow if all goes well.

The CW's Ringer and The Secret Circle.

Given Netflix's killer deal with The CW, I've kind of taken it for granted that they'll always be there, but given that they're each about 6 years old and only ran for one season a piece, I can't say I'm surprised that Netflix wants to cut their losses on paying for the rights to them.

Probably the shelter. Some reading (checked out a historical fiction book on Lady Macbeth, the real historical woman, from the library). Going to a Doctor Who meetup to watch a Classic Who episode tomorrow. And probably watching some Twilight Zone.

Have fun at the shelter! How many people are going to be at the meetup?

I honestly don't know. Usually there is anywhere between 7 and 20 people. It is a group that meets fairly regularly. I don't always go, but the episode sounds kind of interesting.

There's a block party happening on my street. I've been going on and off for years, but it's always a bit awkward because I've lived here for ages but don't really socialize with the neighbors much outside of this, so I never remember anyone's names or if I even met them at a previous year's party. We put on name tags so no one *has* to remember, but still.

Also, the younger people on the street (i.e. closer to my age, i.e. under ~40-ish) almost never show up, and the other people who live in my little building never come either, even the ones who aren't younger.

I have to make something to bring for the potluck, too.

Besides that, I might check out an art fair (or not - trying to save money and I have a weakness for things I can hang on my wall) and I need to do a bunch of cleaning and might bake a peach pie to bring to work on Monday (if the peaches I bought ripen and aren't mealy).

At least they are cool enough to have name tags! That'd be a complete nightmare otherwise. I hope it isn't too boring and you at least get some good food out of it. What are you thinking of making?

I'm thinking maybe some kind of homemade cheese spread and fancy crackers. I need to figure it out tonight in case I need groceries/have to start cooking anything in advance. I love cooking but I never seem to hit on potluck recipes that people really like.

Just drove to family in Tennessee because of Irma.

I hope your drive is quick and easy. Is there a lot of traffic from people leaving?

We avoided I95 by using another route, which was crowded but not crazy yet. I26 into Ashville was bumper-to-bumper but moving. It looks like Irma's going through central FL and GA rather than up the Atlantic, which would have been worst case for us.

I need to cook and clean but that's what I said last weekend and almost none of it got done. I'm a little more confident this weekend.
