People are pretty lucky that we only get eyelash critters and parasites if we fuck up food prep or something. Nothing like brain control or eaten alive like some insects get taken advantage of.

I was at my in-law's house for lunch. They served whole sea bass they bought at Aldi. Halfway through mine, I discover this thing in its mouth. I immediately recognised it as an isopod because I live on the internet, but the family FREAKED OUT. We googled and found the exact pictures you posted. The isopod went off to the local museum for identification and my MIL got £100 of vouchers from Aldi. Anecdote of the day! XD

...holy shit. Lovecraftian horror ahoy, but at least it was dead. Except now I'm wondering because of the stories about why you shouldn't eat squid tentacles, even cooked ones...

I would never eat fish again.
