The one old guy among the main cast, who is guaranteed not to have a love interest, and acts quirky and kinda flamboyant? No, thanks.

What if he was given a love interest though?

NAYRT but I would be so down for that.

I mean, look, I want multiple queer characters in all things, but like... I REALLY want older gay characters.

Teens and young adults, when written by straight people for straight audiences, fall into a LOT of 'being gay is all about sex' stereotypes, or are eagerly misinterpreted that way by both fans and detractors.

(ideally, we could see both. Ideally, we could have a teen/young adult gay hero pining after their crush, and have an older character say 'ah yes, I remember what it was like being your age, have some reassurance'. I want more older gay mentor characters, though! Even if they're a little on the silly side.)

Have you seen London Spy? It's about a young gay hero and his old gay best friend/mentor in life.

I mean, I guess that's one way to describe London Spy, sure...

What, you think Dumbledore's the only man for that post? ;)

Seriously, though, to echo the anon below, I'd love to see more older LGBT characters. I know some real life gay people who live the stereotype, so that doesn't bother me. Stereotypes exist for a reason, imo (Speaking as a bisexual woman).

"Old", lol? I know the other characters call him an old man but they're teenagers and physically he looks no older than thirty-five.

As someone who is gay and over 35, I think you're seriously underestimating how many queer characters over 25 there are in popular media. Because, you know. We all die by 30 right? >.>
