"Where as American cartoons are unique snowflakes."

This sounds a wee bit defensive, considering the secret says absolutely nothing about American cartoons at all and certainly doesn't say they're superior.

It's implied because otherwise why not include cartoons/comics in there? They specifically went after manga and anime, which is a ridiculously common opinion. People get used to looking at American styles and can instantly tell Family Guy from Simpsons from Bob's Burgers even though they're all bug eyed noodle people.
