I think he's hilarious and very talented although I don't know him from anything other than Little Britain. I didn't even know he wrote books.

The fake disabled character (Andy? It's ages since I watched any of it) was pretty unpleasant, in retrospect, given the British public's obsession with the idea that people on disability benefit might be fraudulent and the prevalent assumption that anyone who uses a wheelchair is only legit if they're paraplegic and incapable of using their legs in any situation.

There's plenty of sketches in that show that were totally just offensive-

I'm a Lady sketch which served to completely demonize trans women.

Vicky Pollard just made fun of people with low education who lived in social housing because they didn't talk good.

And the sketch where the joke is the character isn't really disabled but just a prick.

To me it just seemed like a way for middle class people to be judgemental and laugh at everyone who wasn't like them.
