I AM A KHR RP ELITIST. Or some kind of RP elitist in general. I admit it! If you suck, I will acknowledge you suck. If you ask me if you suck, I will TELL YOU THAT YOU SUCK. And then if you want to ask me what you're doing wrong, or what to change, I'll tell you -- but people usually run away after the SUCK part, and it's like well ok, I'm not gonna bother chasing you.

Unless you SUCK ENOUGH TO BE FUNNY, though, why (so peti?) waste the time making fun of you? Like if you're worried about THAT kind of thing, where you're SO TERRIBLE THAT IT MAKES PEOPLE LOL, there must be some kind of basis for it. Man up and ask for crit or do more research or rethink the character and quit cowering in a corner.

I've never had a problem with (other?) elitists. I've never even thought about being scared, wtf?

I'm pret. much one too, haha. I tend to ignore people that bore the hell out of me/suck so bad that I can't be bothered reading ANYTHING. But yeah, if they ask what they're doing wrong, I'll gladly point it out. & heck, it works the other way too! People are free to tell me what I'm doing wrong 'cause it's a two-way street, right.

I can't pick a spot to reply to so I'm just replying to the whole damn thing.

I'm not what I recognize as a true RP elitist in that I don't write pages in Microsoft Word for every post and always put it in tiny font with Colour~ And cannot role play with people who don't, as those kind of elitists often can't.

But I do have a standard. Stay in character and elaborate on wtf you're doing and be creative. I don't even care if your grammar fails something fierce as long as you can manage in-character plausible crack (That is a skill.)

I've been called out on having an OOC post, before, and I sat back to re-think it and readjust my character for future posts. I just recently tried calling out a couple of people on being OOC and they told me they'd RP it how they wanted and it was just different "character interpretations."

I'll tell you what it was.

I mean, my standards seriously aren't even that high -- I know I make them sound that way with all the ranting but really, they're not. I've just run across some incredibly bad roleplayers and I've been called elitist and mean for referring to them as incredibly bad roleplayers and it's like well -- they ARE -- but there have been like what, 3 or 4 total? And I've been roleplaying for what, 3 or 4 YEARS? Seriously, NOT MANY PEOPLE suck bad enough to have to even worry about this.

People call me elitist all the time because I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE THAT SUCK and I kind of boggle at them because who in their right minds WANTS TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE THAT SUCK? I just want to have fun, and if other people are ruining it then I'm not having fun so why would I stay?

I wouldn't mock them if they GOT BETTER or MADE SOME KIND OF EFFORT TO GET BETTER but if they're gonna sit there and claim to be IC while half the game they're in is avoiding them because they're so terrible -- they're GONNA BE MOCKED.

You speak true to my heart. I'm actively trying to stay out of RP threads where these people have posted and because of the way the RP's chat came down on me 'like the fist of an angry God' for trying to correct this level of OOC, I'm BSing other reasons for not posting.

Everybody else in the RP loves them. It drives me insane.

I mock them repeatedly to other people who know the characters and hurt as bad as I do over how this is allowed to happen. They ask for it with how they refuse to change, in my eyes. (If anything, I think I just told you the only thing I'd ever have to post on F!S. And now it's not legit? Oo... ((They check F!S daily, too)))

And Yes people do that. I don't know if it's as prevalent, anymore, but those kind of people were all over GaiaOnline's role playing board, once upon a time. (They inspired me to expand my vocabulary and learn to elaborate and turn every post into a work of textual art... but I don't expect everyone else to do it, too, like they did. I know I'm a little insane for my expectations of myself.)

No one else has dubbed me an elitist; I called myself that first and other's kinda skittishly agree (That "Yeah, kinda" reply that means they'd never say it but they can see where you're coming from.) I happen to be around a group of people that if I say someone's role playing incredibly bad, they often go look and agree instead of call me mean (it's the same if they call someone bad and I go look, too.)

And it is so not fun to play with people butchering your favorite characters. It makes me cringe and it makes me angry and it makes me beat my head into my desk and I don't want to do that every time I go to post~ Isn't that understandable? But this has only happened say... 3 times and I've been role playing for about 7 years? I started early~~ My standards aren't that high, either, really.

I wish people would kinda give you a chance and LOOK at the actual RP that you're calling shitty before being all "my god you think someone sucks, you don't want to play with them, ELITIST!" -- because most of the time the RP you're doing that to REALLY IS THAT SHITTY SHTGJKTHGKSJTHGt I mean, it's GOTTA be pretty bad to make ANYBODY do that, right?

When someone critiques you, take it as a compliment. It means they see more greatness in you. The moment someone stops giving you advice, it means they don't think you can get any better.

Hence, role players should not feel upset when "elite" role players critique them. It just means we know they have greater ability in them. *Nodnod*
