Opinions for different reasons

What are some opinions you have that aren't necessarily unpopular or uncommon, but tend to be held for completely different reasons?

Can be fandom or RL.

I never cared about Hillary Clinton's emails or Benghazi. I just never found her overly compelling. (Although I did share some of her fiscal beliefs, which was awkward when my friends accused her of not being liberal enough.) I still voted for her, but I would've preferred someone I truly rooted for.

Same, TBH. I did vote for her because she didn't insult me the way the orange baboon did, but I wasn't wowed by her or anything.

I wanted to vote for her but her sanctuary cities belief ruined it for me.

I'm a vegetarian partly because I just don't like meat very much at all. I mean sure part of it is that I don't want to eat animals but I don't even think they taste good.

+1, although I miss bacon, smoked salmon, crab, and lobster. There are pretty good bacon substitutes out there (especially because I haven't had the real deal in 20+ years so I'm sure my taste memory is off), but not so much for seafood. Honestly veggie hotdogs are indistinguishable from the real deal and are just a vehicle for carmelized onions, red bell pepper, and spicy mustard anyway. And there are lots of meats I kind of regret not trying while I still ate animals--I'm really curious about venison, but can't bring myself to eat deer, even though they're kind of antlered vermin in some areas.

Yeah most dishes with chicken and beef I ate for the other tastes anyway so meat free versions (with or without meat substitutes) are fine with me. I do miss salmon now and then.

yeah same, I just looked at the pound of hamburger I had in my freezer and was like "ugh I can't anymore".

That and I felt conflicted about watching cute chicken videos but also eating tons of chicken :/ but I guess that's the more mainstream reason

I'm a vegetarian, not because "meat is murder" or any problems with consuming animal products in and of themselves. Animals eating animals is perfectly natural and perfectly acceptable to me. My issue is with unnecessary cruelty. I would eat meat if I could be certain that the people who provided the meat had been kind and respectful to the animals, and I knew for certain no mistreatment had occurred.

I can't be certain, I don't trust people to treat other people well, let alone animals, so I can't eat meat.
