I'd agree with you if the love interests weren't all one-note bags of tropes. You've always got the Sweet Girl, the Action Girl, the Tsundere Girl, the Quiet Girl, etc., ad nauseum. It's tiring. If someone can point me to an RPG/dating sim that has actually fleshed out characters, I'm open to try it, but I've been let down so many times it's kind of hard to find the motivation to bother.
