The people dressed like Doctor Who annoy me more than that. Yes, yes, you're a time traveler, hence why you're here. Super clever.

That would actually make me laugh, but only if they stayed in character.

Or Star Trek characters. Especially shortly after that one Big Bang Theory episode aired in my country where Sheldon dresses as Spock at a Faire, more than a few Spocks started showing up.

I tend to sidle up to people in Star Trek costumes and point out that they're violating the Prime Directive by being here in uniform.

OMG, perfect reaction! I'm going to steal that one. *g*

Most of them doing it here are probably just creatively copying the BBT episode so chances are they wouldn't even know what you're talking about (which was a bit embarassing for them, I guess).

the fact that they're no doubt Big Bang Theory fans would offend me just seeing them tbh

It was a point in the show were it hadn't gone completely off the deep end yet, I think, but still.

Just so ya know, ST fans have been doing this sort of thing since long before the BBT episode. My college roommate (about 16 years ago) was a Civil War re-enactor, and she said re-enactments were occasionally crashed by people dressed as a Star Trek landing party.

Not in my country. I think that's mostly because cosplay isn't really a thing on our medieval markets. I guess it comes with having the actual historical sites where the markets are hosted - most people who go to the medieval markets and do historical re-enactment are a fairly different crowd than cosplayers.

I, too, am annoyed by the Doctor Who people, especially because they only seem to cosplay as Matt Smith's Doctor. I'm not the costume police, but when I go to the ren faire it's not to see 15 people all dressed like Eleven.
