AYRT

I don't even do selfies, dude. Half the time I don't want people to see what I look like even if people close to me insist I look good.

If they're actively hinting that people should give compliments and emotionally manipulating those who don't ("well I guess nobody likes me and I should delete my blog and kill myself") that's shitty and manipulative and will 100% make me distrust someone. But the claims that the act of posting selfies ALONE is milking for compliments is obvnoxious and presumptuous.

That clear things up?

It's clear you're a little overly invested in this topic, for some reason.

I said it was clear he was doing it for the self esteem boost, but I didn't elaborate why in my initial comment. Mostly because I'm typing on my tablet, but mostly because I didn't realize anyone would get defensive about it. The reason why it was clear to me was because the selfies are usually accompanied by a lot of "I look so bad in this one lol" type comments that were clearly fishing for reassurances. You can feel free to not think that's pathetic, but that's my personal opinion. If that causes you to believe I'm a dick, I'll try my best to get over it somehow.

You're free to think I'm "too invested" in this. Lol. Once again pulling out of the dickwad trick bag.

Seeing as how "having differing opinions" counts as a dickwad trick in your book, I imagine the world is a very frustrating place for you. But I guess at least you can still call people names, so...silver lining?

Are you daft? It's pretty obvious that the dickwad trick they were talking about is using "You're weirdly invested in this" as a cheap, all-purpose way of ridiculing and deflecting. And yeah, I agree with AYRT, it is a dickwad trick.

Also, you're projecting here like crazy. You seem way more defensive about this than AYRT is. Just FYI.
