having a negative opinion =/= being so upset

Hey, has anyone else noticed this peculiar trend where people try to discredit someone else's opinion by claiming they're "so upset" or "so angry" when... yeah, they just expressed a different opinion? I guess people could just be really bad at reading comprehension, but I suspect they're just trying to derail the discussion and doing a really half assed job of it.

"I think anchovies on pizza tastes gross."
"OMG WHY ARE YOU SO UPSET ABOUT THIS???"
"Er, what?"
"YES YES YOU'RE SO ANGRY ABOUT THIS OBVIOUSLY!"
"I'm... not? I just don't like anchovies?"
"SO SO ANGRY!"
