I have not read the book or seen the movie.

But I did read Stephen King's book about writing. What was it called... it was basically part-biography, part-this is how you become a writer.

It was mostly good, but I also got this sense that Stephen King was an asshole. He just seemed a bit pretentious, and a little bit vicious at times. My takeaway from that book was that I didn't really want to get to know Stephen King any better.

I think this is a problem anyone who is massively successful can have - they get too prideful, too sure of themselves and end up believing they are right.

JK Rowling has had shades of it, especially recently when she's spouted off her opinion on things when it seems she doesn't know full context.
