Movie Club
I am also wondering about the rules regarding what streaming service the movie must be on. Right now, it must be on Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu.
But it has some major flaws in that different countries have different movies available AND services like Amazon have subscriptions you can get (HBO, Starz, etc).
I only added this requirement to weed out troll nominations. I believe that most people will be able to find any popular movie pretty easily on the internet.
So, should I just keep it to those three services (with the understanding that some countries will not have it)? Add more services? Ban subscriptions you have to pay extra for thru Amazon?
Or can anyone think of another way to ensure nominations are legitimate movies (so no student projects and such) and actually watchable (so no nominating a movie that came out in theaters 2 weeks ago, etc)?
Re: Movie Club
If a recent movie isn't on digital like say, Homecoming, it's not eligible.
You can check if a movie can be streamed with this website;
http://www.canistream.it/
If it has a reasonably full IMDB page, I think it's safe to say it's a legit film.

(Anonymous) 2017-09-20 12:01 am (UTC)(link)I have two suggestions
- have people link a rottentomatoes or wiki article with the movie so people can see that its legit, like book club does with goodreads
- for movies off the streaming services, say it has to be at least 10 years old or something so its not encouraging people to pirate things still in or just out of the box office
