Furries seem pretty open, and accepting compared to others I've met on the internet. Also based on what I've been told and seen, they are very supportive of artists and pay well.

My first fandom was a "furry fandom" and even when I was an obnoxious kid they were pretty cool to me and never flamed or got really nasty. They seemed to understand I was just young.

And honestly while not quite the subject but related, I find the whole "EW FURRIES thing to be unfunny,lazy and tiring, and when people react that way about furries in general I can't help but cringe and roll my eyes.
