The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is my instance of this. [SPOILERS IF ANYONE CARES]

When Lisbeth forcibly sodomizes Bjurman all I feel is pride at Lisbeth's strength and competence. Her calm, controlled vengeance was glorious.

Haven't seen the others, but I was absolutely disgusted. Like I get that she was taking much-needed control and the other dude needed to be punished. But I got out of that, she's as gross and vile as he is, and it made me not like her character or the story as a result.

That's a strange way to view it, IMO.

Late comment is late, but I loved this scene too. In the books she thinks seriously about killing him, and I'm not sure how I felt about that. But what she actually ends up doing felt so fitting. I wish women got cool-headed retribution story lines way more often than they do.
