Well, people sure are wordy today...

131: Bah, the U.S. has permeated the rest of the world with its culture, they can take a little bashing!

But seriously, the better part of the internet-using world have a pretty good idea of what the U.S. and its larger cities are like (albeit we may have a somewhat skewed impression of your crime rate XD), so most people will recognise when something is clearly untruthful.

132: I thought One Piece was incredibly popular? I love its art in any case, and it's one of the best stories in existance, all categories.

But really, sometimes art style can be really offputting; you can't love everything, no matter the quality.

It is, but I dunno, I get the feeling that it'd be more popular if people looked past/got used to/etc. the style. x_x; I think in terms of story, it's better than, say, Naruto.

Yeah, I agree on the second part though.
It's totally fine to not like a few series because of style, but if the only style of comics you read or actively seek out is OMGPRETTYS then you are a stylef*g.

Well, Naruto has a very general appeal, so it's only natural that it's popular, I think. I've got no clue about Monster, come to think of it - isn't the story a bit more inaccessible? And is it finished? An open canon like Naruto attracts new fans all the time, as old fans talk about the new releases.

It's totally fine to not like a few series because of style, but if the only style of comics you read or actively seek out is OMGPRETTYS

I have most problems with a few of the so called "pretty" styles, myself - they break the wrong rules of drawing, or something, heh.

131. Not all though, there are a lot stupid people on the internet (from other countries too mind you, not all of the idiots are from the US) and they probably think us Americans are OMG EVIIIIIIIIL. The fanfic, or whatever the secret maker is talking about, doesn't help.

Psh, just wait until far off into the future when some other country starts permeating (lol, stealing ur word xD) its culture onto other places. Then Foreigners will forget about their country's problems and jump on that nation.

Well, Japan is making a rather good effort, don't you think? We're do for a change here (in Sweden) anyway; we've had Germany (around the 15th century), France (18th), and th U.S. (in the 20th), after all. XD

But yeah, I know the internet is depressingly full of idiots. All Americans that I've met have been lovely people though. Even the republican! j/k
