Wait wait wait, can you claim charity donations made in your name by other people for tax deductions? Because the receipts will make things very easy to itemize, and since I tend to hate most physical gifts other people get for me... I have to go find out about this immediately!

DA - I'm pretty sure the person who actually pays for the donation is the one who can claim it. This came up when a lot of people were putting donations to Planned Parenthood in Republican politicians names and some people were worried about them being able to claim it. I'm not fact-checking this though so I could be wrong.
