I love Halloween, but Halloween kind of sucks as an adult. No where to dress up (we aren't even buying candy this year, so can't dress up to hand out candy to kids). Can't trick or treat. The only vaguely Halloweeny things that go on here are at bars, and I'm not about to go to a bar I don't know and then drive home.

TBH The only reason I ever gave out candy was to have a reason to dress up. Now I work at an elementary school and we're encouraged to dress up for Halloween (as long as it's kid-friendly), but the holiday's still not as fun as when I was a kid.

I honestly love Halloween. I love costumes. I love spooky/horror things. If I were living alone, I'd be in costume giving out candy in a heartbeat. And if I had friends I'd probably be going to a party or something. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and it makes me sad that I can't celebrate it this year (other than watching horror movies in my room, which I'll probably do).

I always manage to find a party or concert or movie or something to go to. I wouldn't want to stay in, primarily because most of my neighbors' kids are rude little assholes who I don't owe any free candy to. (A couple of years ago some unknown person sent me a really entitled, obnoxious e mail trying to guilt trip me because I was out at Rocky Horror that night.)
