I got asked to do some short term work for an attorney. It will be little piecemeal things here and there, but it is a bit of money and a bit of practice. So that's good.

I made the best loaf of bread I've ever made this week. Silly good news, but damn did it make me happy.

Mmmmm, bread. The local more expensive grocery store where we buy a few things had samples of this really yummy rosemary bread. I bought a loaf. It is delicious.

I wish someplace around here had freshly baked bread. :(

I love fresh bread (when it is good bread). That is probably the one thing I miss from the year I spent in Croatia. The bread there in the bakery just down the street from us was amazing.

I got a $200 gift check at work. (We all got one, thanks to a very kind donor.)

Is that like a gift card or is it actual money?

It's actual money, and that's after taxes too. So I am really grateful.

Got put into the system for work tonight. First official work day monday.

Pay and hours are looking good. I may be able to pay health insurance in the first weeks of the month.

Assuming there are no issues with the paperwork, I got hired for a new job today, and I'm excited. It doesn't pay as well as my old job, but it will be so much less stress that it will be worth it. I'm debating also taking one of the other jobs that I was offered, as it is only part time, so I'd be up to 60 hours. Just to build back a cushion I totally blew threw with the car and computer repairs. I don't want to celebrate prematurely, as snafus could still happen, but I'm excited.

I've got potting soil and compost and a bunch of stuff to plant, so as soon as it cools off a bit, it's gardening time.

What are you planting?

Fruit trees, mint, lemon balm, lovage, a couple of different kinds of perennial onion-Egyptian Walking Onion, which are fun because they make tiny onions instead of flowers and then fall over and root, so they "walk," potato/mother onions, which supposedly reproduce like potatoes, and two kinds of shallot; a tiny bay tree, a huckleberry bush, a manuka tea tree shrub, a tea camellia, lots of flower bulbs which won't be delivered until later this month, a couple pony packs of annual flowers, and a ton of veggie seeds that are hopefully still viable. I always buy myself a ton of work, but at least it's work I mostly enjoy. But it was hot and sticky out today, so I'm gonna put some work in tomorrow and Sunday mornings before it heats up, then late next week it's supposed to be cooler and I'm off work, and I'll get the rest in the ground or pots.

I'm going out of town for a week next Saturday. I can't wait. It's just a small yearly getaway thing with my dad and a few friends but it's always so much fun. I know the cats freak out when we go away though so I'm a bit worried.

1. Almost finished my assignments for the semester! Just one more to go. I'm so ready to be finished!
2. Just cleaned the whole house and it feels great.
3. I'm almost over my flu. Being able to think again and have energy is amazing.

I couldn't clean my whole house while juggling schoolwork and the flu, you must have super(will)powers! Go you!
