speaking as a non straight person, it is exactly as obnoxious for a non straight person to make their identity 100% about who they fuck, and how they fuck, and fucking (of their preferred kind) in general, as it is for a straight person to do so, and I despise the fact that that is how most of us get depicted in media. I appreciate the SHIT out of queer characters who have a personality, interests, and motivations that take precedence in the narrative over their being The Queer One.

Fucking this.

So as far as you're concerned, queer people who are vocal about their queerness being central to their identities can go fuck themselves?

Lovely strawman you have there.

As lovely as the straw queer person who literally talks about nothing besides their queerness literally 100% of the time.

there's a difference between talking about it ~all the time~ and making it the sole pillar of your identity.

And where is that line drawn

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2017-10-01 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
are you arguing there is no difference

I think, if we're going to be saying that some gay people are doing it wrong, we should be fairly specific about what we mean.

NAYRT

I would think that a variety of presentations is the end goal, right?

You're not saying that there only ONE way to do gay "right," are you?

hey what a weird coincidence that you've replied to an also "non straight" person...

notice how my comment didn't say "fuck three dimensional gay characters!," in fact I'm all for dimensional gay representation. that has fuck all to do with whether someone's sexuality is a main facet of their (varied) personality. the fact that gay people who centralize being gay make you so angry should perhaps make you look inward a bit. take a fucking chill pill too.
