Answering personally because of your rather personal statement right at the end, but as for myself, honey, I know I don't ever want sex with a guy, ever, and the IRL male form does zero at all for me. Nada. 99% of everything I write centers around the male characters, most of my pairings I dabble in are gay, I do love icons with girls in them but mostly use ones with guys, etc and so forth.

I have had both a girlfriend, and boyfriends before I figured out guys do nothing for me, and am... probably unhealthily underweight which I'm not proud of.
