I always need more of this!

Have you read Diana Wynne Jones? A lot of her work has really well-done sibling or sibling-like relationships (the latter being friends or cousins who grew up having a sibling-like relationship, but actual siblings are present in some of the books too with really interesting relationships).

I should read her books! Are they geared to children? I watched Moving Castle and it's all I know about her work.

They don't really feel like children's books to me when I read them, but some of them could be. They're not super gritty or anything, but they don't feel juvenile. Sometimes the protags are kids, sometimes adolescents, sometimes adults. There's variety and different books have different tones. I like all the ones I've read so far though.

My favorite (so far) is Deep Secret. Two of the main characters are cousins, but raised in close enough proximity to each other to be like siblings, and I love their relationship so much. (By far not the only thing I love about the book, but one of the big ones, and it's what your comment made me think of)
