Inktober?

(Anonymous) 2017-10-02 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Who's doing Inktober this year? Are you going with any theme? Do you think you'll stick with the challenge all through the month?

This is my first year and I had planned on doing a monster theme. Then my favorite undead pope got dragged off stage (and presumably executed out back) and my first plan got scrapped. I'm hoping to keep it up with drawing and posting daily. My platform for posting is my instagram: @maria.mia.ragnarsson

What is inktober? I need to get more writing done, and this sounds like a good excuse.

Inktober is an art challenge, where you make one ink drawing each day of october, post it to you social media of choice and tag it with #inktober/#inktober2017.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about getting an instagram specifically for my art, and this might be a good way to start it?

I like your doodles and your cat, btw!

SA

I was looking through the tag, is it strictly ink...no lead/color pencils/etc.?

Final product is ink. Pencil rough is fine.

Absolutely! It's a good way to kick it off. And to answer you other question, pencil is fine for sketching before you ink it. It's just me, who went straight in with the ink to begin with.

Thank you!

Ugh, my inking pens are all broken so I can't do it until I get more, and I could maybe do it in a couple days but also then I would be so behind idk...

Try a ballpoint pen! That's what I've been doing and it really forces me to be creative with my strokes. Cross hatching is a skill all on its own.

As the other anon said, ballpoint pen is allowed, too. It doesn't need to be fancyshmancy.
