putting no effort into your appearance isn't just about you on date night, it's how you think of your date, too.

This. Couldn't agree more.

That guy is so under-dressed that it would almost be embarrassing to go anywhere even vaguely nice with him. It would have taken him thirty seconds to put on some trousers, or even dark-washed jeans, and a belt, but he didn't do it. Like, seriously dude?

Yeah this was my thought.

I guess if she's fine with it then... okay? But I would be embarrassed to go on a date with someone dressed like that unless our date was at a gym. I'd certainly never dress like that myself on a date, it would be so rude.

Same, and it annoys me that guys don't usually have the same expectations on them as girls do. Most guys would side-eye a girl who showed up to a date in sweats. If we're expected to spend the night wobbling around in high-heels and our best dresses, dudes, you can spend a few minutes throwing on a nice shirt and some jeans.

Speaking as a guy, I'm not really bothered by a woman in sweats if she's comfortable going out like that. If she's all painted and perfumed and tottering in heels, that's a little worrying. What is she hoping to get out of this?
