Every time one of us has a birthday, my parents read this poem to thank God for making that person. To be honest, it kind of creeps me out, as if I'm a doll or a golem made for some purpose.

There are a lot of family traditions Mum and I have given up as being too complicated and annoying, but a few we do keep is that we love a traditional roast dinner for Christmas (though we do get boneless turkey roasts for it) even though being Aussie, Xmas can be a hot day, and Mum loves a crackers and dip meal for New Year's Eve.
