I'm not even a native speaker but I bugs me so much. And with my own writing, I keep searching over and over if I made this mistake before posting.
I mean, sure, you can miss it once. Especially when writing in present tense, I admit it can be tricky (which is one of the reasons a lot of stories in present tense are so bad). But how can you not notice switching tenses multiple times throughout a short fic? It's just so jarring!
Drives me mad when those people actually say they have beta readers. How?
