Sounds like a whole "acceptance" thing. If they're a highschooler (though I don't mean to imply it) sometimes you have to do a lot of crap to be able to hang with your friends. Looks like it's a fad.

I had to do that a lot years ago DX People suck.

I do understand the feeling...but I just thought ordering Japanese copies and such seems like a a bit much. Isn't it expensive?

I ordered the Japanese copy of the FMA DS game and it wasn't much more. Not sure about PW.

They actually were and are cheaper and easier to find, since the Japanese version got two greatest-hits releases. Even with international shipping.
