I always figured that SEELE suffered from the same thing as Lord Voldemort... that is, a villain needed for plot advancement whose motives don't really make much sense.

Admittedly, that makes a lot more sense, but dammit, I didn't watch it to have it make sense. >> (Ends up that it DID make sense, but...)

I'm so confused. *cries. Well, not really.*

I really don't understand why any villain's ultimate goal would be to become Tang, but ... if it advances the plot, all right.

Okay, new question: Why is what's-her-name clearly Albino but nobody ever points it out?

Also, what's the deal with the Angel who looks like a human and lets Shinji kill him? (I think part of my confusion is due to the crappy sub I watched.)

-laugh- Well, the tang is basically the final product of human evolution. And yet... IT'S BLOODY TANG [bloody both being used as an expletive and the fact that LCL/SOUL JUICE supposedly smells like blood], so it's still a moment of WTF-ery. xD

Rei... I think they just took her in stride, because she's weird enough. She's just special [read: the vessel for the soul of the Second Angel and basically mass-produced]. xD Not that most of the characters know that, but she's special enough that it's probably taken as a given.

Well, what do you mean by 'what's the deal with' him? I can probably answer the question, but I don't want to have to go into an extremely long tangent if I don't need to. xD
But. Um. He's just the last Angel. One could argue that he lets Shinji kill him as a final act to drive him utterly loony [Asuka's been MIND-RAPED and Rei II just blew herself up, so Shinji's ALL ALOOOOONE], by befriending him and then making him kill the only person that's ever shown that much kindness to him. (Some fans completely miss the point and take him for face value, or maybe I could be missing the point and over-analyzing it. XD Take it either way you want.)

The whole "evolving humanity into tang" portion is due to the writers not understanding how real life evolution works. That's what I always thought. XD

I'm guessing no one points out Rei's "albinism" is because they got more pressing matters at hand, ahaha. Also, she's "albino" in an indirect way of showing the audience that something's not quite natural about her.

Kaworu lets Shinji kill him because... dude, that part I didn't really get, but I believe that him living would've allowed some bad shit to go down. Kaworu learned to value humanity through his friendship with Shinji, thus him not wanting Third Impact to happen. I think.

hahahah. That's just the thing - the series makes sense to me, but I have no clue how to properly explain it to other people. XD
