Not to be a dick, but I been taken in by faux outrage before, do you have receipts? I'd like to know if this is legit before I complain abut what fucking idiots people are.

No receipts, but I saw it go down because facebook helpfully shows you public friend-of-a-friend activity. Here is the more detailed sum up.

Foaf - We should have a weeabo Halloween party, watch anime, eat sushi and pocky, dress in cosplay.
Friend ( and a couple others) - That sounds like tons of fun.
Person - Ugh I am so sick of all these cultural appropriation themed Halloween parties.
Foaf - I didn't think anime was cultural appropriation? We're not doing 'sexy geisha' or anything.
Friend - Cultural appropriation doesn't include things for sale that are mass marketed for consumers in other countries like licensed anime. It's mimicking things of cultural or religious significance, especially with a mocking or ignorant tone.
Person - And now some white chick is trying to explain cultural appropriation to a POC. What the fuck.
Person - I just posted this in my cultural appropriation facebook group. Lots of people agree with me.
Foaf - Yeah, I've been blocking them as they send me messages telling me to kill myself.

And then Friend and Foaf OP both apologized and said they'd been given a lot to think about and I did some angry ranting to friends that jesus christ maybe miss 'Cultural appropriation' should join the Jesusy protesters outside anime cons.

Yeah, I scrolled back through my feed and it's not showing up anymore. So either foaf locked it, deleted it, or just facebook isn't loading it. And sadly friend is one of those people with a buttload of friends and I can't remember the name of the one where it went down. Boooo. Don't want to poke them about it just for dramaz.
