I think she was a bad choice. On the surface she seems fine and the scripted portions of the show are fine, but in the judging where there are more off the cuff remarks... ouch. She doesn't seem to have much tact or diplomacy. The problem was, Paul's supposed to be "the mean judge" and Mary Berry was there to balance him out. It's not that Mary never handed out criticism, because she did - but she knew how to do it in a way that informed people without making them feel small or stupid! Prue does not do this well AT ALL and it really shows. There's some entertainment value in watching her Mean Girl her way through Bake Off, but I feel sorry for the bakers. It's already disappointing to find out you're going to be in the new series without Mary Berry, but dealing with that woman likely makes it worse.

It's interesting that they've clearly tried to compensate for it by having Paul be a bit more like he was in S1 and 2 as well, being more giving with his positive feedback.
