I agree with you, TBH. From what I've read about the fandom, it had some true dedicate and fans who tried to help each other whenever they could. Unfortunately that 50 Shades woman took advantage and the fandom kind of came apart at some point after that. I don't personally care for the books but I'm glad if they made some people happy. Life's hard enough, you know? If you're having fun and not hurting anyone, and being kind, what's the harm? Also, I'm seriously impressed that the person in the picture chose to get a tattoo there. That's some serious time and money and a big commitment. Why should only skinny people have tattoos? Live yo life, and go for it. (BTW I'm never getting a tattoo because I'm afraid of needles.)

For me it's not anything about her body. It's that she got a terrible tattoo about a shitty book. It's one thing to enjoy a book like Twilight, and another to love it so much you want to memorialize it on your body forever. It's pathetic.

It's not my personal taste, but why it is any more pathetic than any other fandom or media related tattoo? It means something to the person, it brings them joy. I'd also never get a pikachu tattoo but I don't think it's weird if people do (and this isn't likely to show in public, either, so it's really all for themselves & nobody else's business).

It's actually an objectively bad tattoo. Not because of the subject matter (you do you, person with tattoo) but the artist just...didn't do a good job. I presume that portraits aren't really their 'thing'.

Wow, this is just really mean and small of you. People love the stories they love. At the end of the day, being obsessively invested in a story is being obsessively invested in a story. Maybe it's The Grapes Of Wrath, or maybe it's Battlestar Galactica, or maybe it's Twilight. I'm not sure it's possible to objectively deem one of these stories more valid to be obsessed with than the others - and if it is somehow possible, it still makes so little measurable difference which one a person is obsessed with that it may as well be irrelevant.

I'm just sad for this person that their tattoo artist did a terrible job.

It's a pap book, but lbr, plenty of people have lotr/harry potter tattooes, so...
