I'm not familiar with this, but are her actions being presented like that's okay? Because that is not okay. That is grounds for divorce.

Also haven't seen it, but yeah, seconding this.

Sort of...her husband does have this mild "What, seriously?" reaction when he finds out what she did but that's it. They don't have a huge fight over it or anything and there are zero repercussions for her. Actually (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT) everything works out according to her plan. So I could see why OP would object.

SA

I could see how context could make it okay for them specifically. Maybe he married her on purpose because she was the kind of person that does things this and he's interested in taking that ride. The narrative might be completely neutral "LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS." I guess it just depends on the story. I just know for me personally behavior like that that would be a dealbreaker.

The male character is a really laid back person so you could argue that he's OK with it. I agree though, it'd be deal breaker for me, too. I'd be furious if my partner went behind my back like that.

Agreed, anon!

his lack of ambition would drive me mad, but her actions are not ok. I'd have not had a kid, and just left him. She's mega selfish.
