Maybe it's because all of his features are so unobjectionable? Having every feature of your face be perfect sounds good in theory, but IME people whose features are all individually perfect sometimes end up looking a little goofy.

I like the amount of judging his appearance people have with this particular shot...after he crashed his plane in a movie.

I find him unattractive. Heavy brow, deep-set eyes, mouth that doesn't seem to fit his face. He looks Neanderthal-ish to me most of the time, and his acting does *not* make up for his meh looks.

Though this isn't a great picture. He looks a little drawn there. He was very pretty in Princess Diaries 2. He seems less now and I think it suits him. What weirds me out sometimes is how much he looks like his father, who I used to watch on CHiPs (Sgt. Getraer).

I think he's super handsome (and he's not even my type!), and a big part of that is due to his large eyes and his smile. He's got a lot of charisma and an expressive face, which increases his attractiveness by 200%.

Came here to say this exactly. A lot of it is his charisma and the way he handles himself. He seems fairly intelligent. Really nice smile, his voice is lovely, just seems like the kind of dude you can chill with and bicker about silly TV show things for date night.

But seriously, I like the thickness and darkness of his eyebrows and how they contrast with the clear brightness and narrowness of his eyes, they remind me of a mischievous cat's eyes.

That's the main dig for me, tbh.

To me, he just looks bland and inoffensive. He's the kind of guy male marketing executives assume women will find attractive. And it seems like all my shows and movies are now awash in guys who look exactly like this, to the point that one of my shows has four guys on it who look like this and I can't tell any of them apart.

He has beautiful eyes and lips, the rest of his features are fine. But, moreover, he is charismatic, smart, has a husky lovely voice and is low-key funny. That is far more attractive than his physical looks (which are still very handsome IMO)

Oh, OP, now I wish I would have waited and used another image for my own Chris Pine secret (which I submitted a few days ago).

I think he's gorgeous, especially his eyes. I would watch all kinds of (bad) stuff just because of him.

I think he's beautiful, but not attractive. His face makes me feel the way muscular men who are fully waxed do: there's something very Ken doll about it. It's not that he's "too handsome" or that a man needs to be rugged to be attractive, he just comes off a little flat and plasticky.

IMO (while I think he's really hot, not least because of his lovely voice), his parents' features meshed a little weirdly and that's probably what's going on with his face. His father has the full lips and deep-set eyes, but he got the lantern jaw from his mother, and his nose is too small for the rest of his face. Personally, I think he's better-looking than his dad, but the weird facial combo may be causing this reaction.

(Also, as a Jewish person, I've observed the light coloring/heavy features discrepancy that creates sort of an Uncanny Valley look in some people with mixed Jewish/non-Jewish ancestry, and one of his grandfathers was Jewish with the heavy jaw. If Chris had dark hair and/or eyes, he might look a little less disconnected. Same issue applies with Sarah Jessica Parker.)
