this, actually. the whole thing strikes me as incredibly manufactured and definitely aimed at the young demographic that can totally relate to "old taylor" not being able to come to the phone.

like if i had been into pop when i was younger i would have eaten up the fantasy of becoming super hardass, paying back backstabbing bitches and overcoming all the silly ideas people have about me.

I think all pop stars do this to some extent, but Taylor seems more prone to it somehow. Every time a new album drops there's a new "story" to follow. I can't imagine her entire team doesn't sit down like 6 months in advance all, "Okay, what is the image that we're settling on going forward?"

I mean, if OP believes that her entire reputation is self-constructed, doesn't it seem likely that this is just the latest construction project? I don't believe her "outrage" is any more genuine than her "good girl" shtick.
