I could barely get through the first (two?) eps of s10 because Mulder sounded like one of those nutjobs who goes on about how the deep state orchestrated Sandy Hook. I can't root for someone like that. I don't want to think of him like that, TXF was my first major fandom, I'd rather leave it in the past than sully it like that.

So I didn't see any of the comedy eps from the latest season, but tbh I didn't really like any of the comedy eps from, say, s6 or 7 onwards? In the early seasons there were some funnier eps, but it was subtle and it was always with a wistful or melancholy feel. Laughing to keep from crying or something. The longer the show went on, the humor became broader and easier and most importantly: self-aware. It often felt like the show was mocking itself or its viewers.

There's a part of me that really wants to watch these new episodes, but I think I'll be happier just leaving this show as a part of my teenage years, to be looked on with fondness.

The the real deep and fundamental problem is that Mulder absolutely was one of those nutjobs. Or at least 60% of one, and then the rest is like 30% Watergate and 10% Chris Carter wackiness. But the people who thought the things that Mulder thought in the 90s are exactly the same people who think that the deep state orchestrated Sandy Hook. It's hard to trace out, and it's not usually explicit, but IMO it's basically the same ideology.

Anyway, yeah, they should just make spooky episodes. Not even really horror episodes. Just spooky.

Didn't they kind of cover that in the first ep where Mulder complains about how so much turned out to be BS?
