Take it from somebody who's been there: the fandom will do what they want. Heck, don't take my word for it. Look at every fandom, everywhere.

Right now you're worried about people not shipping your characters because they're canonically straight... but if you catch on, it'll probably be eating you up that so many people are convinced they aren't when you have it so firmly established in your head that they are.

150: I don't think that's a fair statement at all. It's perfectly possibly to play a character well and not ship them with their canon love interest, as long as the player acknowledges it exists in canon and works within the boundaries of that canon. If they completely disregard it then I see your point, but if they don't, what's the problem?
