I think it is difficult to translate animation to cosplay but will look at videos.

You reminded me of a dude that was too real with his cosplay - he have not changed on the venue and his costume had guns (prop ones). Forgot who he was cosplaying but it was someone pretty menacing looking plus he was of film prop background. That is the only instance I can think of about cosplay being too real :P .

(It was London, dude was indeed arrested as police was convinced he had real weapons - toy guns and props not used on sets need to be marked and he has not done that or put them away)

Edit: Video's kind of funny as an advert parody.

I think the video is kind of funny, but the acting is terrible.
I kind of feel you, though. I have a weird fascination with cosplay videos sometimes. They weird me out, but I'm still interested... idk. I'm the type of cosplayer who really doesn't "act" the character much, so maybe I've got some secondhand embarrassment.

ugh they're so embarrassing. it's right up there with doing in-character panels at conventions. everyone thinks they're so good at acting and looks so much like the character but...you're a 14 year old girl in a wig and contacts. You look, sound, and act like a 14 year old girl in a wig and contacts. You are not your character.

I had no idea people made cosplay videos.

The one pictured in your secret made me unsure if he was real or CGI. :[

Yeah. I'd be slightly disturbed too.

It's not just you, it's weird.

I know people who do these kinds of videos. Knowing the people involved personally does not reduce the secondhand embarrassment, I'll tell you that much. Like I don't want to be a dick but there's just something very cringey about it.
