I think that people should eat whatever works for them and food snobbery isn't helpful and usually based on bullshit.
but I get so grossed out whenever I see one of those american recipes with a list of ingredients like "1 can of biscuit dough, a bag of doritos, a jar of salsa, and one pack of nacho cheese".
it's not like I don't use processed food or shortcuts I just find it uniquely disgusting.

yeah, same here. once I started fully cooking from scratch to avoid processed foods it became even more pronounced.

like yeah, I get the pros of it: people who genuinely have no time to mix their own dough or babysit a roux, and people seeking some kind of childhood comfort food that was always bad for them. but then I also think about how nasty it must taste and ugh.

I don't think that "eat what you want, but I'll pass, thanks" is particularly hypocritical.

And as someone whose mom cooks like that, holy shit it is GROSS. Pretty much all processed foods have a high level of salt in them, and piling them all together makes food that I can't eat because it's too salty. But of course my mom gives me crap for being "too picky" because her taste buds have faded with age.

I don't full rage unless it's listed as a 'four ingredient recipe' simple and 'clean' because that makes me think of something like... my alfredo sauce which is butter, cream, parmesan cheese, garlic. (and salt and pepper).

Like holy shit I am eating so clean and simple, this recipe is just 'open up a microwaved frozen dinner' ONE INGREDIENT!
