That piece of media you love that no one you know has heard of!

The Kettering Incident. I find reviews of the show and I think I once found a Reddit thread through Google but I can never find anyone else who actually saw it.

I think part of the problem is that it came out around the same time as Stranger Things and had vaguely similar themes. (They're not really much alike though.)

Basically it's about a doctor who is having memory issues, who goes back to her hometown in Tasmania. She remembers her friend who disappeared when they were kids, that people think may have been abducted by aliens. (That makes it sound a lot more generic and predictable than it actually is though.)

The Severing Crime Edge, the manga. People know about the anime, which they usually say sucks, but no one knows about the manga. It's one of the few fantasy stories I've seen that takes mental illness as a central subject and manages not to be offensive.

I had never heard of either one and it sounds good. Now I want to check out the manga.

I recommend buying it through Bookwalker. The official translation is less literal and more naturalistic than the fan translation.

Mistmantle.

It's like Redwall, but with no mice, more violence, and a stronger religious theme.

Yeah, I loved that so much! I know I wasn't the target market, but it was sooo good

The Night Shift doesn't seem to have much of a fandom. My favorite medical drama show.

And two favorite true crime shows, Murder Maps and Stranger in My Home, don't seem super well known.

Lots of Euro comics. Donald Duck and Franco-Belgian stuff like Asterix and Spirou. I mean, it's a big thing IRL, but I want people to have dumb fandom chats about it with, and that isn't happening in English-language fandom spaces.

Asterix comics were my favourite as a kid!

Yup. I tried to start things with my fandom friends for series I knew everyone had read and loved, but it never worked. It seems that fandom is something that happens to imported stuff, not local BDs.

Hmmm, the most unknown might be Lone Star State of Mind. Hilarious movie that no one seems to have heard of.

Razia's Shadow. It's a rock opera by a band I loved - this was their last project before disbanding. The characters/story are on the cliche side, but I like the music and it's got a lot of well-known singers besides the band, like Brendon Urie and Max Bemis. No one's ever heard of it.

I first listened to Razia's Shadow because of Brendon Urie, but ended up falling in love with the album <3

I know I'm two days late, but I've seen an episode of ReGenesis. It was good.

Kaliman. It's a comic book my dad loved when he was a kid and he used to read me his favorite ones when I was little, so I got to like it too. At least in the US, no one I know has heard about it.

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. It's an insanely dated PC game about a dude who pilots a mecha and is dating his (not so) dead girlfriend's sister while also mourning his (not so) dead brother and their (not so) dead BFF, and the more he finds out about what actually happened to all of them the more complicated things get. Also he blows up a lot of shit. The graphics are pretty terrible even for their time, but there's a sort of charm to the game that makes up for that, at least for me. It could just be nostalgia talking, though, as it was one of the first games I played when I was just getting into anime and just getting back into gaming.

Two TV shows I was obsessed with as a kid, Tomfoolery and the Curiosity Shop. These should be on DVD and no one I know even remembers them.
