I guess if that's the only thing they have to say about something, it makes me wonder if they're trying to virtue signal, but I wouldn't hold it against the piece of media.

Though, if you mean several people sort push you to watch something and imply you're not, I don't know, feminist enough if you don't, then I kind of get that. I don't like it when I feel like someone is pushing something on me or trying to manipulate me into watching something.

NAYRT but in my experience if they can't focus on any other part of the thing (book, movie, whatever) except for that one small piece, it has a high probability that it's a virtue signal.

If it's the only thing they have to say that something. Also, I find there's often a rote quality to how they talk about it, like they have a checklist, rather genuine enthusiasm or pleasure.
